Radley Balko brings down the corrupt Mississippi medical examiner who has almost certainly put innocent people in prison. To recap: Radley has now helped overturn an unjust death sentence and exposed a powerful, connected, loathsome forensic pathologist. Fear his reportorial skills!
I found the most disturbing part of Radley’s original story to be the fact that many people–state prosecutors, law enforcement, fellow examiners, and others–knew that this man was lying well before Radley starting mucking around.

Nothing is ever enough and one man cannot correct every injustice but Radley Balko has reminded the faithful that we are not powerless and justice is not beyond our reach. He is a symbol of everything that has ever been or will ever be right with the media, because he serves the truth with unrelenting dedication and integrity.
